For the first time in over a decade, the Gainesville Lady Leopards basketball team is headed to the playoffs and now they know who they will be facing.

The Gainesville Lady Leopards will enter the Class 3A playoffs with a much-needed win after defeating Aubrey 37-31 Tuesday night in Aubrey.

The playoff bound Gainesville Lady Leopards assured themselves of a third place finish in District 9-3A Friday with a 46-40 loss to the Sanger Lady Indians. Sanger (7-1 district) made the shots they needed to down the stretch to pull away for the victory.

The Gainesville Lady Leopards hopes for their first district championship in more than 10 years, slipped through their fingers Tuesday night…literally.

The Gainesville Lady Leopards used a strong second quarter to defeat the Pilot Point Lady Cats 48-36 Friday night at the GHS gym.

The Gainesville Lady Leopards dominated the Whitesboro Lady Cats 50-19 Tuesday night to remain in the thick of the race for a district championship in 9-3A.
