Coach Lopez attended Gainesville High School where he played played soccer, tennis and football at the varsity level.  He graduated from GHS in 2003, then graduated from Texas Tech University in 2007 with a degree in Electronic Media and Communications.  This is his 5th year teaching and coaching at Gainesville.  His coaching positions have included middle school football, assistant soccer coach, head tennis coach and now head soccer coach.

"I'm happy to now be the head coach for the soccer program that my father started at Gainesville," Lopez said.

Jon is married to Jennifer Lopez, formerly Jennifer Neal, a native of Gainesville and graduate of Gainesville High School.  She is an RN at Baylor Surgicare center in Lewisville.
