Keith Hall is the new head football coach of the Gainesville Leopards.
Hall coached the Vernon Lions from 2003 to 2009 and compiled an overall record of 48-37 in those seven years. His teams had an impressive 10-5 playoff record including two trips to the 3A State semifinals and another trip to the quarterfinal round.
His 2003 team went 11-3 before falling in the semifinals, his 2006 team went 9-6 and also advanced to the semifinals, and the 2007 team was 12-2 but lost in the quarterfinals. The Lions made the playoffs five of his seven years as head coach.
He left Vernon after a 1-9 season in 2009 and became the defensive coordinator at Denton High School.
"He is an extremely hard worker and an excellent x/o football coach," Gainesville athletic director Eric Johns said. "He knows how to build winning schemes and the players have always really enjoyed playing for him. I am excited for him to be here and get the opportunity to build back up our football program."
